Over 20 blog posts and not a single posting about my actual bicycle. Well, I’m about to right that wrong!
In March ’06, I purchased a Felt F75 bicycle as my entry into the road biking scene. This purchase was influenced by Joel (Felt F50) and Marco (Felt F70). I decided to take the plunge after a grueling, lung-exploding attempt to keep up with these gentleman on my mountain bike during a circuit of the 26-mile Helotes Loop. I made it 18 miles before collapsing. I should have seen it coming…I remember road bikers zooming by saying “Wow…you’re doing this on a mountain bike? Brave man!” No, not brave. Stupid!
Since then, I’ve put 590.27 miles on my F75 and I must say, I’m real impressed with the bike. It’s lightweight, stable and looks great! Ok…it also matches my black F-150 Supercrew Pickup (but that is entirely coincidence).
I have made only a few minor alterations to the original equipment on my F75. They include:
- Replaced stock saddle with Koobi Au Enduro
- Replaced stock handlebar wrap with Specialized Bar Phat
A few months after I bought the bike, I discovered a rather glowing review of the F75 online. I don’t think I ever had buyer’s remorse with my F75 but if I had, this review would have vaporized it.
I’ll be spending some serious quality time with my F75 soon during the Valero MS150. Based on the first 600 miles, I have no reason to believe she’ll let me down. Wish us both luck!

hey, i am riding the ms150 too. thats a nice bike. if i see you on the ride i will say hi
