On a whim, I thought it would be neat to capture sound bites from fellow cyclists regarding their answers to two basic questions:

  1. Why do you ride?
  2. What do you like most about riding?

With the help of my Olympus DS-2 digital voice recorder, I have embarked on this journey. My first “volunteers” have been family members that have also been bitten by the cycling bug and are frequent companions of mine on the road or trail.

I’ll continue to collect these sound bites from friends and other cyclists I encounter who have a couple of minutes to spare. So…let the fun begin!

In this post, we’ll hear from (just click on the name to listen):

  • Shannon (32 years old, AKA “Justin’s better half”)
  • Jack (65 years old, my father)
  • Jerry (65 years old, my mother)
  • Joey (44 years old, my cousin)

If you’re really bored, I also answered the questions myself.

I’m looking forward to interviewing more cyclists! Joel, Marco, Jennifer, Bill….you guys are next on the agenda! I’ll also interview cyclists I meet on the road, at events, etc.
