I picked up my 2009 Trek Valencia yesterday and started adding my accessories to it (e.g. Blackburn X8 headlamps, Topeak Explorer bicycle rack).

I had hoped to ride the bicycle into work this morning (Friday) but with temps in the low 30′s I decided to hold off. The saying, “You never get a second chance to make a first impression” applies here. I don’t want my chattering teeth to get in the way of my first “Valencia experience”.

The plan is to provide a detailed report on the first 10 round-trip commutes to document my own experience and to share this real-world experience with potential Trek commuter bike purchasers/enthusiasts.

This is my first Trek bicycle.
