Last summer I became a big fan of Hammer's Endurloyte tablets for replenishment. I keep my sugar intake quite low and even the lower-calorie G2 upsets my tummy. Recently I did a century drinking HEED, which is a tasty liquid designed (like Endurolytes) to replenish a small amount of sodium but larger amounts of magnesium, etc, that are lost. (I notice an endurance and performance difference with these products, I'm not a Hammer rep, and I'm sure other companies have similar products).

Great blog Justin - ride safe!

Hi Justin

Bought a Valencia pretty much based on your review and I love it. Also bought the same rack and bag!

I have a quick question about the front mudguards. I see you've removed them but did you have any trouble filling the front one? I just don't see how it's possible with the disk brake in the way

That is too funny! I found salt rocks in my hair and thought it so strange. I feel better knowing that I am not the only salt monster out there!

Wow, that's hardcore. Luckily we have had a very cool summer, but last year I used to have to come in very early, like 7 am, in order to not be a salt monster upon arrival. Since my ride is short it wasn't too bad.

Back off the speed! - last year I treated every commute like a time trial - lessons learned.
